...Songs From The Wood...

Music is one way a culture defines itself.

Native American singer songwriter Thunderhand Joe performing his songs, and sharing the stories behind the music. Joe also incorporates singer songwriters from the 50's 60's & 70's for a fun filled evening for everyone.

Music is one way a culture defines itself. Songs From The Wood exposes the audience to the Contemporary Native American artist, and the music. The artist takes a moment to explain the inspiration and story behind the song.

You get an intimate inside look into the artists mind and as he or she wrote the song. Or a story, a life lesson, that that inspired the composition. Sometimes deeply funny sometimes deeply sad, as the artists can be, quite candid.

A rich and diverse cultural experience. Songs from the wood hopes to inspire and enrich lives through the music of the contemporary Native American artist all over the world.

THUNDERHAND JOE,

While working as the powerhouse drummer for the recording artist Redbone, dazzled audiences all over the world.  Redbone is the most successful Native American Rock & Roll  band in the history of music. Joe's high energy and incredible showmanship was the driving force behind the band for 18, after years on the road, the journeyman drummer decided that the time was right. He went out on his own and formed 'Thunderhand Joe and the Medicine Show'! The result was an original blend of classic rock, funk and rhythm and blues. Becoming one of the hardest working bands in the Native music business.
